中文摘要 | 本研究的目的在於以社會認同理論的觀點,探討對科學認同程度不同的國小學生 對科學與科學家的想法。研究工具為「國小學生科學與科學家意象調查問卷」,研究樣本包 括 12 所國小五、六年級學生共計 724 人; 並選取對科學認同程度不同的學生 36 人作為 晤談對象。研究結果發現: 在國小班級結構中, 同儕科學家與非同儕科學家的學生比例為 2:1,意圖成為科學家的學 生約僅佔五分之一。學生科學意象的心智表徵,為科學是發明或發現、科學為思考的活動、 科學是一種方法、科學即知識、視科學為物品或東西、科學的價值與其他等七個類型。科學 家意象之心智表徵,則可分為個人的興趣與願望、個人的自我意象、對科學的意象與對科學 家的意象等四個類型。從學生在調查問卷上的反應與對科學認同程度不同的學生深入晤談的 資料分析,顯示學生科學與科學家的意象仍是片斷的,且相當自我。國小學生對科學與科學 家意象之建構,符合社會認同理論之分類、認同與比較等社會化歷程的詮釋基礎,並與學生 自主建構知識的觀點相呼應。 |
英文摘要 | The purpose of this study is to investigate elementary school students' images of science and scientist. Questionnaires are utilized to collect data of students' thoughts, Randmly chosen from 12 schools, 724 elementary students in both the fifth and sixth grades take part in this study, among them 36 students with different scientific identity interviewed. The results indicate that only one-fifth of the students intended to be scientists, with the structure of elementary school classes where the ratio of peer scientists and the nonpeer scinetists is two to one. Students' mental representation of images of science can be divided into seven categories: science is an invention or discovery, a thinking activity, a method, a kind of knowledge, an object or a thing, a kind of value, and others. Students' mental representation of images of scientist can be divided into four categories: personal interest and desire, personal self-image, images of science, images of sxientist. The analysis of information from interviewed students reveals that students' images of science and scientist is still fragmental and egocentric. Students' self-image and their image construct of science and scientists correspond to the socializing process--social category, identity and comparison, which can be found in social identity theory, and they also correspond to the viewpoints of students' self-construct. |
