中文摘要 | 透過深度訪談,本研究以質的方法探討幼兒母親對中國傳統教養與現代教養的認 知與看法。研究對象乃 15 位年齡介於 25 至 40 歲大學教育程度,住在新竹地區的婦女。 研究結果發現,在受訪者認知中,傳統教養是以「大人為中心」,現代教養是「以孩子為中 心」。傳統與現代教養觀在很多方面傳遞了不同的價值體系。受訪者對於二者正面與負面的 看法皆有之,因為舊的不見的不好,新的不見的就好,反之亦然。本研究建議:任何教養行 為的解釋及其影響,必須在了解研究對象之文化社會及時代背景下進行。中國人的教養觀必 須有系統地從文化生態的觀點去了解與探討。 |
英文摘要 | This qualitative study explored how do mothers of preschoolers define and perceive traditional and modern ways of child-rearing. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews. Fifteen college-educated mothers were the participants. Findings indicate that traditional Chinese parenting, as perceived by participants, was adult-centered, whereas modern parenting is child-centered. These two approaches convey very different value systems. Participants' feelings toward these two approaches include both positive and negative ones. To them, the old is not necessarily undesirable, and the new is not necessarily desirable, and vice versa. It is suggested that any interpretation of parenting behavior and its impact require an understanding of the setting itself and its relation to the larger socio-cultural context. Understanding the essence of Chinese notion of parenting from a cultural-ecological perspective is urged. |
