英文摘要 | Arylamine N-acetyltransferase (NAT) activities with 2-aminofluorene (2-AF) were determined in the bacterium Klebsiella pneumoniae. Cytosols or suspensions of K. pneumoniae with or without specific concentrations of vitamin E co-treatment showed different percentages of 2-AF acetylation. The data indicated that there was increased NAT activity associated with increased levels of vitamin E in K. pneumoniae cytosols and intact bacteria. For the cytosol examination, the apparent values of Km and Vmax increased 0.25-and 0.70-fold after co-treated with 40μM vitamin E, respectively, for 2-AF. For the intact bacter examination, the apparent values of Km and Vmax increased 0.26-and 0.30-fold after co-treated with 40μM vitamin E, respectively, for 2-AF. This report is the first demonstration to show that vitamin E can promote K. pneumonia N-acetyltransferase activity. |
