| 英文摘要 | The purposes of this study were to investigate the effect of cadmium(Cd) levels on growth performance, metabolism and Cd retention of Taiwan country chickens. Diets contained five different levels of Cd at 0, 0.5, 3, 12 and 50 ppm, respecitively. Cadmium chloride was used as the cadmium source. A total of four hundred day-old country chickens were used in a feeding trial. Chickens were alloted to 20 pens, including half of the male and female, with three replicates in each treatment. Six chicks from one pen of each treatment were sacrificed and sampled for analysis of Cd storage in tibia-muscle and liver. In the metabolic trial, roosters were forced-fed with each diets to determine the Cd retention. The results showed that diet containing 50 ppm Cd reduced feed intake and body weight gain (P<0.05) during 0-4 weeks of age. The growth and feed conversion (feed/gain) depressed (P<0.05) at 5-8 and 9-13 weeks of age. The Cd in excreta, total Cd excreted and amount of Cd retention increased as the levels of dietary Cd were increased (P<0.05). In diet containing 50 ppm Cd in excreta and Cd residue in body were higher. Chickens fed control diet had significantly higher tibia weight and bone ash (P<0.05). A significantly linear increase in tibia Cd (P<0.05) was found as the levels of dietary Cd increase. Cd in breast, leg muscle and liver were significantly higher at 13 weeks of age of chickens. At 4, 8 and 13 weeks of age serum Cd increased as dietary Cd was increased. These results indicated that the growth performance was not significantly affected at 12 ppm Cd in diet, neither Cd retention in tibia, muscle and liver. Diets containing 50 ppm Cd had poor growth, elevated Cd in excreta and increase in Cd retention in chickens. |
