英文摘要 | Two trails were conducted to study the effect of dietary protein and amino acid supplementation on the growth performance, nitrogen excretion and carcass characteristics in finishing pigs. In feeding trial, 36 crossbred pigs averaging 50 kg were housed individually and allotted to treatments based on sex and weight. Dietary treatments were corn-soybean meal diets containing: (1)16% crude protein; (2)14% crude protein; (3)12% crude protein supplemented with lysine, tryptophan, threonine; (4)10% crude protein supplemented with lysine, tryptophan, threonine and methionine. At the end of feeding trial, pigs at 100 kg body weight were killed for measuring the carcass characteristics. In the metabolism trial, 24 barrows at 60 kg live weight were used for measuring nitrogen excretion. The results showed that pigs fed diet containing 10% crude protein plus amino acids had a lower daily feed intake, daily gain, nitrogen intake, total nitrogen excreted and nitrogen retained, and needed more feed for gain (P<0.05). Percentage of nitrogen retention, nitrogen digestibility and total protein of serum were not different (P>0.05) between treatments. The supplementation of low-protein diets with amino acids had a lower concentration of serum urea nitrogen and total nitrogen excreted (P<0.05). However dressing percentage, backfat thickness and loin-eye area had no differences among treatment groups. Both had more lean (P<0.05) and lesser fat in ham (P<0.05) on the supplementation of low-protein diets with amino acids. These results suggested that supplementation of 12% protein with amino acids might reduce nitrogen excretion with no reverse effects on carcass characteristics or growth performance of finishing pig. |
