英文摘要 | Many oil field environments constitute ecological niches in which thermophilic microorganisms growing above 50℃ are responsible for the mineralization of organic material. More recently, thermophilic sulfidogenic microorganisms have been received more attention to when considering reservoir souring. Here we report the enrichment at 55℃ and 70℃ of thermophilic sulfate reducers from production waters in the North Sea oil field. Additionally, a novel thermophilic sulfate-reducing strain NM2, growing at the temperatures between 55℃ and 90℃ with an optimum between 65℃ and 75℃, was isolated from the 70℃ growth medium with butyrate as a carbon and energy source. Phylogenetically, the thermophilic strain NM2 is closely related to Archaeoglobus fulgidus VC 16. As a consequence of the physiological and ecological characteristics described in this paper, such thermophilic sulfate reducers growing at either 55℃ or 70℃ may play an important role in the biogenic production of hydrogen sulfide in the oil field. |
