英文摘要 | The MBA professions have become an essential requirement in business industry. Researchers have advocated the importance of the MBA core courses and suggested business schools adapt the MBA ideal courses to meet the trends of real workplace. Student requests and faculty instructions are factors to influence the design of core courses. The purpose of this study is to realize the perceptions of MBA students and faculty toward MBA core courses and attributes as well as identify whether there is a gap between students and faculty. A total of 21 faculty and 148 MBA students were obtained from 10 universities in central Taiwan. The results showed (1) students rated higher on functional courses than faculty and MBA students consider English skills as important courses; (2) the most important course ranked by students is global competitive strategy and by faculty is strategic management; and (3) teaching methodology and faculty members are the most important while both students and faculty evaluated MBA attributes. The results indicated that both students and faculty positively support MBA core courses and emphasize contents more tailored with industry. However, faculty focused on analytical courses, but students emphasized management related courses. It seems there is a slight gap between faculty and students. Finally, the findings showed both of MBA students and faculty hope to develop a global perspective in the competitive world. |
