英文摘要 | Due to inhomgeneity, anisotropic shrinkage and other defects such as knot, juvenile wood, annual ring curvature, spiral grain angle, and so on, wood warps when its moisture content changes. Plywood, structurally balanced, warps mainly caused by non-uniform moisture content distribution. The object of this study is to analyze hygroscopic warping of plywood made of four symmetric veneers with the same thickness and different moisture content by the laminated theory to calculate the effect of variations in moisture content of veneer and veneer thickness on warping at the plywood center for Black spruce or Sugar maple. Both Black spruce and Sugar maple show the following same trend. The numerical analysis of plywood made of four symmetric veneers with the same thickness and different moisture content reaching different equilibrium moisture content showed that the central plywood warping increased with the increase of moisture content difference for a given material properties. The central plywood warping was decreased with the inverse of the veneer thickness. |
