英文摘要 | Ten primiparous late lactation goats were used in this experiment. Goats were grouped by milk production at tht beginning. Within each group, goats were randomly assigned to either control or salt block (96% NaCl) treatment. Goats were housed in group by treatment. Water and the basal diet consisted of bermuda hay were fed ad libitum. In addition, alfalfa cubes and concentrate were supplemented. The experimetal period lasted for 4 weeks. Goats were fed and millked twice daily. During the last 2 weeks, jugular blood and milk samples were taken and analyzed immediately. Respiration rate (76.4 vs. 110.7 per min) and rectum temperature (39.2 vs. 39.6 ℃ ) were higher for treatment goats than for control goats (P<0.01). However, blood pH, base excess (BE), HCO ��, pCO �� ,and tCO �� were not affected by treatment. Blood pO �� (38.6 vs. 44.8 mmHg) and O �� sat (61.0 vs. 7.0%) were increased with salt block addition (p <0.05). Free blood Na ��,K ��,and Ca ���� concentration did not differ between treatments. However, goats provided with salt block tended to have higher blood electrolytes. Daily milk production and milk solids content were not influenced by treatment. However, ash content in milk (0.80 vs. 0.85%) was higher for goats with salt block (p<0.05).Treatments did not change milk pH and free Ca ���� concentrations. |
