中文摘要 | 網際網路不受時空限制,資源多樣化,聲光俱全,即時資料,以及線上對話的環 境, 不僅影響了全球溝通管道,對於學術研究及教育發展也有不小的衝擊。 由於網路資訊傳輸以英文為主,所以對英語教學亦產生了革命性的影響。有鑑於傳統英語教學方法弊端,導致學生學習興趣低落,教學成效不彰。故本研究目的即欲藉由網路實施英語來探討本校學生對此教學模式的興趣、態度及成效。經由問卷訪談、教室觀察等方式,本研究結果發現:網路教學之實驗,顯示出學生對網路英語教學持有正面態度,學習英語之興趣也明顯提昇,更能增強其英語溝通能力,同時加強了同學間及師生間的互動關係。然而,學校電腦設備不足,網路傳訊速度也嫌緩慢,往往影響教學效果。因此,研究者建議,如能克服設備缺失之問題及慎選網路英文教材,必能彰顯教學成效。本研究不僅希望能夠推廣網路英語教學,進而也能夠提供未來英語教學及課程規劃之參考。 |
英文摘要 | Among the most abundant of informational resources, online audio and video, online talk, E-mail, and other interactive technologies, not only influence worldwide communicative I channels, but also greatly affect academic research and educational development. English has I emerged as an international language of the Internet, which has strongly affected EFL/ESL teaching. Traditionally, because of the conventional exam-oriented approach of English instruction, students often lost interest. This study explores students' interest and attitude toward the English instruction through the World Wide Web (WWW), and the effectiveness of this innovative approach. Data, collected from the questionnaire, interviews and classroom observations, show that students have positive attitudes toward the English instruction through the WWW. They regard this approach as novel, interesting, and most importantly, beneficial to learning and promoting communicative ability. Meanwhile, student-student and teacher-student interaction was enhanced. However, drawbacks include inadequate computer equipment, slow transmission speed, and insufficient class hours. The researchers conclude that only when these technical problems are solved and the appropriate online materials are selected, can the Internet facilitate English instruction. Hopefully, this innovative approach will be advocated and integrated into EFL/ESL instruction in I the future. |
