中文摘要 | 遠距教學是一項結合現代化電腦與通訊技術,以提供學習者與遠方授課老師之間 雙向互動式的學習環境。透過多媒體視訊會議系統和通訊網路,老師和學生可以在不同的地 方進行面對面的交談,而教材的設計也可以多元化。新竹師院自民國八十五年起開始實施遠 距教學實驗計畫,剛開始以校園網路和桌上型視訊會議系統為實驗平臺。在教育部經費的補 助下,學校增購了大型視訊會議系統及多點視訊會議控制器等相關設備,並且成立遠距教室 ,透過 ISDN 網路和各大專院校進行連線試播的工作。校方於八十六學年度起開設遠距教學 課程,從此正式加入教育部遠距教學計畫的主播和收播學校行列。 遠距教學的實施對老師和學生來說都是一種新的嘗試,老師除了透過網路與收播端教室連線 來進行教學活動, 還可以利用電子郵件和 BBS 網站來和學生進行課後的討論,而學生也可 以將做好的作業設計成網頁的格式,直接鏈結至老師所指定的 WWW 網站。 學生在遠距學習 的過程中,除了能夠獲得學科方面的知識,也可以熟悉各種瀏覽工具和網路資源的使用,真 可說是一舉兩得。然而,和傳統教學模式相較之下,遠距教學也有其缺點和不便之處,例如 :畫面解析度不夠及互動性較低,會直接影嚮學習效果,而考試和作業的繳交,也比傳統方 式來得麻煩,其它有關排課和選課問題,更需主、收播學校之間的配合。上述的問題則有待 遠距教學技術的提昇和實施模式的建立才能獲得解決。 |
英文摘要 | Distance learning combines modern computer and communication technologies to provide an interactive environment between students and far-away teachers. Through multi-media video conferencing systems and ISDN network, teachers and students can perform face-to-face communication from different places, and the design of teaching material can also be multiform. National Hsin-Chu Teachers College started its experimental distance-learning project since 1996, based on the platform of campus network and PC-based video conferencing systems. After funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE), we purchased a larger video conferencing system, a multi-port control unit (MCU), and other related instruments to set up the distance-learning classroom and courses as well. Since then, our college became a member of many schools executing MOE's distance-learning projects. Teaching and taking distance-learning courses are both new experiences for teachers and students. Teachers must perform their instruction which is broadcast to far-away receiving classroom through ISDN network. They can also communicate with students after class by using E-mail or Bulletin Board System (BBS). Students can prepare their homework in the form of homepages, which are linked to the WWW server designated by their teacher. As a result, the students can acquire course knowledge and also become acquainted with the usage of Internet tools and resources. However, distance learning has its drawback as compared with traditional learning system. For example, low visual resolution and interactivity may reduce the learning effectiveness directly, and taking exam or submitting homework is more laborious. Also, course schedule and registration requires corporation between broadcasting and receiving schools. These problems can only be solved after the enhancement of technology and establishment of execution model in distance learning systems. |
