英文摘要 | A model is developed for the study of laminar, filmwise condensation from quiescent vapors onto a horizontal elliptical tube with uniform suction at its porous wall. The local film thickness and heat transfer coefficient around the elliptical periphery have been obtained for various values of the eccentricity e of the cross section, suction parameter Sw, and the inverse Bond number 1/Bo of the surface tension effect. The dimensionless mean heat transfer coefficient Nu(Ja/Ra)1/4 increases with increaasing e and Sw. But, the effect of surface tension on Nu(Ja/Ra)1/4 is insignificant, especially for small e (e.g. e< 0.825 for 1/Bo=0.05). For the case of no wall suction, the present solution reduces to an analytical result, i.e., a Nusselt-type solution. |
