英文摘要 | In Experiment 1 and 2, a corn starch-isolated soybean protein type semi-purified diet containing 2% hydrogenated coconut oil was used as basal diet (CP 19.9 % and ME 30w kcal&g). Safflower oil, replacing hydrogenated coconut oil, was added to basal diet to supply different levels of dietary linoleic acid. In Experiment 1 and 2, diets contained 0.0, 0.4, 0.8, 1.6 %, and 0.0, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2% of linoleic acid, respectively and day-old mule ducklings from commercial hatchery were used. The experiment was conducted for three weeks and 12 birds (six♀and six♂) per each dietary treatment is sacrificed and sampled in the end of experiment. Samples were analyzed for lipid characteristics and fatty acid composition to study the essential fatty acid requirement of mule ducklings and the effect of sex on essential fatty acid requirement of mule ducklings. Body weight gain, the weight of liver and heart, the lipid content of liver and heart, plasma total lipid and plasma triglyceride were not affected by sex and the level of dietary linoleic acid. The content of plasma HDL- cholesterol of male duckling fed 1.2% and 1.6% dietary linoleic acid groups was significant higher then those of other diet treatment groups while the content of plasma cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol of female ducklings fed 1.2% dietary linoleic acid groups was significant lower (p<0.05). The level of C1 8: 1 n9 and C20:3n9 for hepatic and cardiac lipids decreased with the increase of dietary linoleic acid, while the level of C 1 8:2n6 and C20:4n6 increased. Ratios of C20:3n9 to C20:4n6 for hepatic and cardiac lipids illustrate a negative relationship to the dietary linoleic acid. Using C20:3n9/C20:4n6 for hepatic lipids to determine the linoleic acid requirement showed that a ratio of 0.27 or less is indicative of an adequate intake of linoleic acid for growing mule ducklings. Thus, we suggest that the requirement for linoleic acid is 0.86% of diet at least. |
