中文摘要 | 本研究採類似Strohner和Nelson(1974)的方法,利用標準的語法結構,探討語意和語法在理解華語句子上所扮演的角色,以及兒童和成人是否有語言發展上的差異。受試者包括三、四、五歲兒童和成人共四組,每組16名,接受語句理解測驗,以圖片將聽到的句子表演出來。結果發現語意的發展先於語法的發展,主動句的發展優於被動句的發展。三歲組兒童較依賴語意來詮釋句子,語法較未發展,但語意仍在擴展;四歲組兒童較不依賴語意,但語法正在發中;而五歲組兒童則語法發展漸趨穩定,較依賴語法來詮釋句子,但被動句仍難免受語意干擾。至於成人組,則語法發展完成,能根據語法來正確詮釋語意和語法衝突的句子。所以結論是:華語語意和語法的發展仍是循語意策略進而語法策略的發展通則。 |
英文摘要 | This study applied standard syntactic structures which were used by Strohner and Nelson (1974) to investigate the relative roles of semantics and syntax in understanding Chinese sentences and also to find if there were any developmental differences among children and adults. Four groups of subjects, 3-year-old, 4-year-old, 5-year-old children and adults, were included. Each group consisted of 16 subjects and each subject accepted a sentence comprehension test by using pictures to act out the sentences heard. The findings were that the development of semantics was prior to the development of syntax, and that the development of active sentences was superior to the development of passive sentences. Three-year-olds relied on semantics more than syntax to interpret sentences. Their syhtax had not been developed as well as semantics, but their semantics was still developing. Four-year-olds relied less on semantics, but their syntax was still developing. Five-year-olds relied more on syntax to interpret sentences. Their development of syntax became more steady, but their semantics still interfered the interpretation of the passive sentences. As for adults, their syntax had been developed well, so they could base on syntax to interpret correctly the sentences which revealed conflict between semantics and syntax, Therefore, it was concluded that the development of semantics and syntax in Chinese was following the developmental rules that semantic strategies are developed prior to syntactic strategies. |
