英文摘要 | The nonlinear behaviors and strengths of centrally loaded laminated composite plates with partially clamped edges are studied. The von Karman-Mindlin plate theory and the Ritz method are used to construct the load-deflection curves of the composite plates with defferent lamination arrangements and side-to-thickness ratios. The theoretical first-ply failure loads are predicted on the basis of various failure criteria. Experiments on the laminated composite plates loaded to failure are performed. The experimental results are compared with those obtained from the theoretical analyses. The load-deflection curves predicted by the present method are demonstrated to be in good agreement with the experimental results. The accuracy of the theoretical first-ply failure loads is, however, not as good as that of deflection. Therefore, further research on failure analysis is required. |
