英文摘要 | The first ply failure loads of laminated composite plates were investigated by using the hybrid stress finite element method and the tensor polynomial failure criteria. The hybrid stress model was based on the modified complementary energy principle and took into account the transverse shear deformation effects. All the six stress components were included in the model. The failure criteria used in the present work were maximum stress, Tsai-Hill, Tsai-Wu, and Hoffman. The first ply failure loads of laminated composite plates subjected to transverse loading were analyzed and compared with existing solutions. Good agreement was noticed between these solutions. The effects of ply orientations and failure criteria on the first ply failure loads were also conducted. The methodology established should be considered as a very attractive aid in preliminary and detail design phases of composite laminates. |
