英文摘要 | In this paper, four theoretical orientations of curriculum design are analyzed: subject-centered, student-centered, society-centered and technology-centered. In each orientation, the basic concepts and concerns are discussed, different ideas are compared, and the implications for curriculum designers are also synthesized. In discussion of subject-centered orientation, two main streams--cognitive development and academic rationalism are included. Their basic concerns are subject contents and intellectual skills. When analyzing student-centered orientation, the author compares traditional schools and ideal schools, introduces what ideal schools the student-centered educators have established are--child-centered school, activity school, organic school, integrated school, free school, etc. Their main concerns are students' needs, interests, experiences. The related ideas such as relevant curriculum, humanistic curriculum, hidden curriculum are also discussed. Society-centered orientation includes two streams, one is social-adaptation and other is social resconstruction. Both streams see the source of school curriculum in society--various social functions for the former, social problems for the latter. The main concerns of technology-centered orientation are: the systematic application of the technological media and materials and the sequencing of instructional content and process according to scientific principles. |
