| 英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of indoor and outdoor ambient temperature on the back feathers, caruncle and body temperature of white-feathered and black- feathered Muscovy drakes by non-invasive method analysis. The study included two trials. In trial 1, fourteen male black-feathered and white-feathered Muscovy ducks, respectively, were kept indoor, and the temperature of caruncle skin and the back feathers were measured by infrared thermometer at different time points in the cool season. In trial 2, ten male black-feather and white-feather Muscovy ducks, respectively, were put in outdoor pen, and the temperature of caruncle skin and the back feathers were measured by infrared thermometer, and colon and rectum temperature were measured with a clinical thermometer at different time points in the hot season. Results in trial 1 showed that the back feather and caruncle temperature of the white-feather Muscovy drakes were lower than those of the black-feather Muscovy drakes at most time points (P < 0.05). Results in trial 2 showed that the temperature of the back feathers, the caruncle and the colon and rectum in the white-feather Muscovy drakes were lower than those of the black-feather Muscovy drakes for all the measuring time point (P < 0.05). Moreover, the maximum temperature differences for back feathers, caruncle and rectal average temperature were 8.15℃, 3.69℃ and 0.79℃, respectively in both breeds. In addition, the change of temperature for the back feathers, caruncle and rectal temperature of the drakes were in linear trend with the ambient temperature significantly (P < 0.05). The caruncle temperature of black- feathered and white-feathered Muscovy drakes were significant positively correlated with the colon and rectum temperature (P < 0.05). Therefore, by infrared thermometer measuring the caruncle skin of Muscovy drakes under high ambient temperature could be used as a reference for its body temperature status. In conclusion, the back feathers, the caruncle and the rectal temperature of the white-feathered Muscovy drakes were lower than those of the black-feathered Muscovy drakes, therefore, it was speculated that the white-feathered Muscovy drakes were more resistant to heat stress than the black-feathered Muscovy drakes on tropic area under the climate change. |
