英文摘要 | The greatest obstacle in engaging in the sport of bowling faced by those with visual impairment is the training of orientation and mobility, and how to utilize guide rail to provide the visually impaired with the relative positions of the bowl, lane and pins. The guide rail possesses orienting and positioning functions. Training of the visually impaired in bowling is comparative to the foundational training for ordinary people in terms of basic movements. For the visually impaired, the guide rail is essential and requires three teaching methods: 1. Learning how to throw bowling balls using the guide rail in a fixed position; 2. Using the guide rail to practice run-up; 3. Using the guide rail to learn how to throw the bowling ball. These teaching methods can assist the visually impaired students in learning the six basic moves of bowling, thereby enhancing their steadiness and accuracy in the sport. Therefore, for the visually impaired, they can develop regular exercise habit by participating in bowling and accomplish the six teaching objectives: 1. Improve physiological functions; 2. Alleviate psychological stress; 3. Remove fear; 4. Enhance self-confidence; 5. Develop good inter-personal relationships; 6. Become part of the society. These objectives help build well-rounded individuals, and boost healthy character development for those with visual impairment. |
