中文摘要 | 隨著生物技術的迅速發展,基因改造(genetically modified;GM)作物的種植面積和產量也在近十年間大幅成長。然而,GM作物對於環境和人體是否造成影響,仍持續引發學者及消費者的疑慮。因此,為了使農民可以自由選擇種植GM或非GM之作物,以及讓消費者得以安心的食用相關產品,如何使GM作物和非GM作物在田間共存便顯得相當重要。本研究以紫色玉米模擬GM玉米為花粉貢獻親,白色玉米作為花粉接受親,於2009-2010年間在行政院農委會臺南區農業改良場朴子分場進行花粉飄散試驗,以建立花粉式基因流動(pollen-mediated gene flow;PMGF)模式。以三個常用於探討PMGF的非線性模式(exponential模式、log/log模式和log/square模式)及two-step模式建立花粉飄散模式並進行比較,期以篩選適合臺灣氣候環境下的花粉飄散模式。並在花粉飄散模式的基礎下,探討在不同強制標示門檻值下所需之隔離距離。研究結果顯示,two-step模式在朴子地區的配適能力最佳,並且以exponential模式表現較差。經推算若當強制標示門檻值為0.9%時,最遠則需要50.25 m(log/log模式)的隔離距離。依據研究結果所示,two-step模式的模擬結果可作為臺灣建立共存決策時花粉飄散模式的參考依據,並據此推估在各強制標示門檻下之所需的隔離距離。 |
英文摘要 | Following the improvements in agricultural biotechnology, the area and yield of genetically modified (GM) crops have been increased rapidly during the past decades. However, there may be unfavorable effects of GM crops on the environment and human. Many of their potential impacts are as of yet unknown. The issue of the coexistence between GM and non-GM crops in an open field is of particular importance, regarding to decision making of farmers to cultivate GM or non-GM crops as well as consumers to buy their goods in a market. In the present study, the purple-glutinous maize was used to mimic as a GM crop. The non-GM one was the white-glutinous maize. The field experiments were conducted at Potzu Branch Station of Tainan District Agricultural Research and Extension Station in 2009 and 2010, and the data were used to establish the pollen-mediated gene flow (PMGF) models suited to the local climate and environment. Three non-linear models (exponential model, log/log model and log/square model) and two-step model were adopted for comparisons. The isolation distance was calculated, using varied compulsory labeling thresholds, by different models. Results indicated that in Potzu, the two-step model fitted better than the other PMGF models. The exponential model had the least fitting performance. At the labeling threshold of 0.9%, the isolation distance was 50.25 m and 24.75 m estimated by the log/log and the two-step model, respectively. Accordingly, data obtained from the simulation of two-step model are recommended for further uses. |
