中文摘要 | 本文旨在探析二十世紀英國女作家維吉妮亞.沃芙(Virginia Woolf)如何藉由後現代諧擬(postmodern parody)的文學技巧顛覆傳記書寫成規繼而實踐後現代主義欲打破“真實”(Truth)、“整體性”(totality)、“普世性”(universality)的迷思與推翻一言堂、單一價值觀的志業。此外,本文亦將討論沃芙如何同時顛覆文學與歷史書寫的父權傳統(patriarchy),將女性的聲音與歷史寫入《歐蘭朵》(Orlando)一書中,使該部小說變成一部展現女性主義思想的陰陽史並巧妙地實踐她於《自己的房間》(A Room of One's Own)一書中所主張的雌雄同體的思想和陰陽書寫。本論文共分五章節。第一與第五小節分別為前言與結論。二第二章節將先引介沃芙於其論文〈傳記的藝術〉(“The Art of Biography”)中所闡述的前衛性的傳記書寫概念。第三節則簡介後現代主義的基本精神與界說後現代諧擬(postmodern parody)。第四章節則以《歐蘭朵》為本文探析與說明前開議題。 |
英文摘要 | The objective of this paper is to analyze how Virginia Woolf has applied postmodern parody in Orlando to subvert the conventions of biography and to undermine the patriarchal authority in the tradition of historiography. Besides, this research shall also demonstrate how Woolf has created herstory and articulated for the de-voiced women in patriarchy-dominated literature and history writing. In addition to the preface and conclusion respectively in the first and fifth sections, three more sections comprise this paper. The second section shall address Woolf's vanguardian conceptions about biography and historiography advocated in her “The Art of Biography.” The spirit of postmodernism and the definition and function of postmodern parody shall be introduced in the third part of the paper's main body. The fourth section shall deal with a textual analysis of Orlando so as to illustrate Woolf's postmodern inversion of phallocentric biography and historiography and the woman novelist's realization of androgynous historiography. |
