中文摘要 | 英語雖不是全球母語人數最多的語言,但在資訊科技時代,英語是流通全球的國際語言。面對這股英語的全球化熱潮,政府除將學校英語課下降到國小,另也推動全民英檢以鼓勵民眾學習英語。由於英語學習已成全民運動,英語學習者的年齡層廣且不限於在學學生,英語教學的管道勢必要更多元,方能符應不同的學習者,其中英語教學雜誌是英語教育產業諸多類別中,最普遍、最易得的學習資源,且由於價格相對較低,因此擁有眾多學習者,並維持穩定成長。 國內英語教學雜誌市場除出版平面雜誌,多結合各種輔助媒介,一方面幫助學習者全方位地學習,一方面也可提高產品的附加價值。英語教學雜誌成為結合雜誌、廣播、電視、光碟、網路等多重媒介的英語教材。 為了對英語教學雜誌特性更深入的了解,本文除探討英語學習與媒體的關係,並以六家英語教學雜誌出版社的特性與媒體運用之情形整理分析,以說明今資訊科技時代英語教學雜誌在媒介運用上的發展。 |
英文摘要 | Nowadays, there are a quarter of the people in the world who speak English. To face this worldly trend, government in Taiwan uses two strategies as response: 1. lowering English learning to grade five in stead of grade seven. 2. pushing “General English Proficiency Test” movement to urge people to get the certificate. Due to the diversity of learner, various English learning methods and media should be used to satisfy different students' needs. Thus English instructing magazines is the most popular to source of learning and due to the low cost and accessible. Therefore there are a lot of learners and the number is still growing. The editors and publishers of English instructing magazines are aware of the technology trends and design media & hi-tech product along with the magazine. Various media and CD. VCD, MP3 offer learner choice to enhance their learning. It not only present the learner the whole learning package, but increase magazine's added value., making the magazine and affiliated media a complete learning materials this article first explore the relationship between English learning and media, then analyze the top 6 English instructing magazine, to understand thoroughly their characteristics and media--usage. The conclusion is as follow: English instructing magazine is GEPT-directed, and it's very competitive, publisher has series magazine to accommodate different learners, the price varies depend on the different product package. As for the media use, high-tech products such as CD, VCD, CD-ROM, MP3, on-line listening, or e-newsletter 1 are widely offered, then radio-broadcasting, very few magazine use TV. It shows the media uses in English instructing magazine is updated and reflects the current trends. |
