中文摘要 | 本篇研究透過半年的調查,欲了解組織內人際媒介(包括面對面及電話)的使 用態度受到人際溝通網路(communication networks)影響的情形。本研究是以Burt的社會 互傳理論(Social Contagion Theory)為主導,將此理論中之兩大網絡機制:關係( cohesion network)與結構對等網絡(structural equivalence network)與組織內媒介運 用的兩大理論:媒介豐富理論(Media Richness)及社會資訊處理理論(Social Information Processing)相結合。希望藉著組織成員的人際網絡機制而預測其媒介運用 態度,並同時了解媒介運用兩大理論之間之相關性(互補或對立)。本篇研究也同時測試 網絡的暫時穩定性(network temporal stability),希望藉此更深入探討組織內媒介運用 行為與人際溝通網絡之間的關係。研究的結果似乎顯示運用結構對等網絡機制的媒介豐富 理論略勝一籌。網絡的暫時穩定性只得到部份支持。本篇研究的研究地點為美國防癌資訊 服務中心(Cancer Information Service, N=83)。 |
英文摘要 | This study examines organizational members' perceptions of interpersonal channels (face-to-face and telephone) for Media Richness and Social Influence of Media Use models over a six-month period with Burt's social contagion theory. Media richness explanations are posited to be more closely linked with an individual's structural position in his/her communication network, while social influence relates to cohesive ties of an individual in his/her communication network. Network temporal stability, which is crucial in the contagion process, was examined as well. The results lent more support to the association between structural equivalence with media richness than to the association between cohesion with social information processing. The test of network temporal stability was partially supported. The data (N=83) were drawn from the Cancer Information Service, a government health information services agency that specializes in disseminating cancer- related information. |
