中文摘要 | 本研究的主要目的在藉由觀察與訪談參加英語故事訓練及表演的職前英語教師,瞭解其對講演英語故事的概念,包括講演故事過程中所涉及的兒童喜歡的故事類型、說故事的目的與價值、技巧、以及說故者本身的特質等。主要研究發現包括:1) 本研究的職前英語教師雖然尚未對說故事發展出全面通盤之概念,但某些部份的概念與著名學者、專家有吻合之處。2) 本研究的職前英語教師認為說故事的極至表現是「寓教於樂」,而非藝術的展現。3) 本研究的職前英語教師有關說故事技巧的概念,主要是透過觀察別人說故事活動習得,或從實際說故事經驗當中慢慢體會。4) 本研究的職前英語教師認為故事講演者本身應具備聲音的模仿能力、基本的英語能力以及同理心之外,亦需接受聲音、肢體動作及現場控制等方面的訓練。本文研究者希望本研究之發現,可以作為有志於應用說故事之英語教師及英語師資訓練者之參考。 |
英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to explore, through observation and interview, the concepts of preservice English teachers about storytelling, including their concepts about types of stories popular with children, the objectives, values, and techniques of storytelling, and the characteristics of the storyteller. Major finding includes the following: 1) Some of the preservice teachers' concepts of storytelling were compatible with that of reading educators and expert storytellers, but their conceptualization had not reached a comprehensive and mature level. 2) To the preservice teachers, the ultimate goal of telling English stories was to teach English through entertaining storytelling, not to cultivate the art of storytelling. 3) The preservice teahcers acquired their concepts about the techniques of storytelling mainly through observing others' performances and their own storytelling experience. 4) The preservice teahcers deemed it important for the storyteller to be rich in vocal expressions, competent in the English language, and empathetic with the audience. Training in vocal variety, body language, and audience control were also deemed important. It is wished that the findings from this study would be useful to practitioners and to teacher educators. |
