英文摘要 | The discovery of the wild form of the cultivated species Oryza sativa indiginous to China has been reported by various authors before. However, rice species other than O. sativa were rarely studied. A batch of seeds of O. officinalis originated in Yu-lin, Kwang-si Province (accession no. W553) was kindly supplied by Dr. H.I.Oka of the National Institute of Genetics, Japan. A total of three plants grown up from the seedlings were found to be triploid (2n=36). The observation on the PMC's showed that the most frequent chromosome configuration was 12 bivalents and 12 univalents at pachytene as well as metaphase-I. There were various types of division found in telophase-I and different chromosome number in the cells of metaphase-II. In addition to these some restitutional cells were also found. As a results different size of microspores were found at the end of meiosis. There was no fertile pollen and setting. The average of chromosome pairing at MI of this strain was compared with that of other spontaneous allo-triploid plants of O. officinalis (W014) and the interspecific hybrids of O. latifolia ×O. officinalis (made up by artificial cross), and a similar pattern was found. The morphological characters of W553 are somewhat similar to that of the F1 of the latter cross. The genetic constitution of the strain of O. officinalis in Kwang-si, therefore, needs further studies by using the original materials. A review of the references concerning the rice species collected in China has been made, and the following five species were found to have collection record in China: Oryza sativa L. common cultivated species found in rice area of China. O. sativa L. f. spontanea Roshev. (including O. formosana Masamune et Suzuki) Kwang-tung (11)(28) and Taiwan. (25) (no. attached to the places was Literature cited number in this paper).
