英文摘要 | The objective of this investigation was to determine the change of marginal accuracy of two separated three-unit fixed partial dentures after being joined using laser welding. We used three dental alloys (type Ⅲ casting gold alloy, Pd-Ag alloy, and pure titanium) to connect the two separated parent metals under appropriate laser welding conditions. Then, after connecting to a computer image processing system via CCD camera under a stereomicroscope, we measured the changes of the marginal accuracy of the whole prosthesis directly on the computer monitor. The results showed that with the type Ⅲ casting gold alloy, the changes of marginal accuracy after laser welding were 0.00 um in molar, 3.24 um in premolar and 1.77 um in the outer aspect of the welded joint, 1.47 um in the inner aspect of the welded joint. The Pd-Ag alloy were 1.8 um, 1.44 um, 2.46 um and 0.78 um, respectively, while they were 2.15 um, 0.31 um, 1.56um and 3.40 um, respectively for titanium. We used the one-way ANOVA and the paired t-test to analyze the data. The t-test was used to compare the data of molar-premolar and outer-inner aspect, between groups and within group variances. The t-test showed the change of marginal accuracy after laser welding in premolar using type Ⅲ casting gold alloy demonstrated statistical significance. For all others, there were no statistically significant differences in the change of marginal accuracy between groups or within groups. Through this investigation and analysis, we found that the laser welding, although having some effects, did not make a significant change in the marginal accuracy of castings. Therefore, laser welding is a reliable technique for casting connection. |
