中文摘要 | 大學實施通識教育是期許大學生能有應付生疏事物的技能,了解世界問題對眾人的影響,並能對生活的品質有一種鑑賞力及對文明有一種宏觀眼光;同時是要讓大學生培養在社會中個人與團體生存發展所須具備的基本知識與涵養的教育過程。面對新世紀的既將來臨,一個社會個體需同時具備:學習認知、周延做事、與人群相處及自我發展的基本能力。為此,學生在教育過程中除了能夠養成理性評估、正確推理、清楚溝通、通盤了解知識與經驗、探究問題講求方法等能力之外,尚且需具有參與社群,關懷周遭的作為。這正是通識教育的宏旨,因此通識教育是大學學術專業與職業生涯教育之外非常重要的養成教育。 通識教育是要培養青年具有恆久的躍動能量,其活水泉源即來自「生活社區」,最後也同樣要落實到「社區生活」。因此,如何結合社區服務的理念,用以達成通識教育的目標,使學校能積極培育熱情、真摯的青年學子,散播『人人為我,我為人人』的群倫意念,不僅將有助於該教育信念的體現,並且鼓勵青年朋友自社區服務中了解生命的真諦與價值,乃至於導引社會風氣的形塑。 |
英文摘要 | General Education aspires to teach students to understand the effect of the world on the citizens of the country, to broaden their perspective on the quality of life and to handle challlenging situations. This process also cultivates the students' fundamental understanding of the relationship between the development of the individual and the group in society. General Education is just as important as academic training and professional skills. Through learning to get along with others, studying broadly, acting conscientiously, and integrating experience, knowledge and research techniques, students learn to participate in the community and care for their environment. Originating from the living community and returning to serve community life, General Education is a primary source of energy for young people. The university's active development of the students' enthusiasm and sincerity to serve the common good will not only help achieve these educational ideals, but also encourage students to realize the meaning and value of life through their own community service. Ultimately, this must contribute to a more enlightened and just society. |
