英文摘要 | GPI (Glucose phosphate isomerase) and PGD (6-Phosphogluconate dehydrogenase) at chromosome 6 of pigs are closely linked loci and form four homotypic GPI-PGD genotypes such as AA-AA, AA-BB, BB-AA and BB-BB. This study was conducted to compare growth rate of pigs on different GPI-PGD genotypes. Growth traits consisted of birth weight, weight at 3 weeks and 8 weeks of age, age at 30 kg of body weight, daily gain during growth performance test, and age at 110 kg of body weight in boars or age at 90 kg of body weight in gilts. Yorkshire piglets with the BB-BB genotype had a lighter boty weight at 8 weeks of age as compared to other genotypes and differed from the AA-BB piglets significantly. But such difference was not observed in Landrace and Duroc breeds. In comparison of the age at 30 kg of body weight for on-test boars with various GPI-PGD genotypes, Landrace boars with the AA-AA genotype required 63.3�b5.2 days which was significantly less than the AA-BB genotype (78.6�b2.8 days). Whereas such difference was not observed in Yorkshire and Duroc breeds. Daily gain and age at 110 kg of body weight in off-test boars for four homotypic GPI-PGD genotypes were not significantly different. In Yorkshire gilts, age at 30 kg of body weight in the AA-AA gilts required 79.1�b0.4 days which was less than AA-BB gilts (82.4�b1.3 days) and BB-BB gilts (95.1�b4.7 days) significantly. Comparison on daily gain and age at 90 kg of body weight, gilts with AA-AA genotype grew faster than AA-BB gilts in Yorkshire breed (P<0.05). Overall, four homotypic GPI-PGD genotypes within each breed did not have a similar effect on the growth rate of pigs. |
