英文摘要 | Genetic markers of pigs for selection are important in assisting the establishment and improvement of a congenic breed or line. The present study was conducted at the South Performance Test Station for Purebred Swine located at Taiwan Livestock Research Institute. A total of 180 off-test pigs which included 67 Duroc (D), 86 Landrace (L), and 27 Yorkshire (Y) were sampled for blood typing. Phosphohexose isomerase (PHI; also named as Glucose Phosphate Isomerase, GPI) and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (PGD) on the membrane of red blood cell were genotyped to investigate the differences of frequencies of genotypes among breeds and between sexes. The analysis of frequency on PHI/PGD haplotypes was also conducted based upon both loci linked to chromosome 6 in pig. There was no significant difference in frequencies of PHI or PGD genotypes between males and females (P> 0.75). However, there were significant differences in frequencies of PGD genotypes among three breeds (P< 0.007) and on frequencies of PHI genotypes when comparison was made either between L and D or L and Y (P<0.001). The major genotypes of PGD in D, L, and Y were BB, AB, and AA with frequencies of 61.19 %, 45.35 %, and 55.56 %, respectively. For PHI, BB type was the major genotype in D, L, and Y with frequencies of 41.79 %, 69.77 %, and 55.56 %, respectively. The result of PHI/PGD haplotype analysis showed that BB/BB (32.7 %), BB/AB (34.9 %) and BB/AA (37.1%) were the major linked genotypes in D, L, and Y breeds, respectively. Distribution of PHI/PGD haplotypes having homozygous markers in D, L, and Y pigs were cumulative with 41.7 %, 34.8 %, and 40.8 %, respectively we concluded that L breed was less congenic than D or Y breed. |
