英文摘要 | A partial differential equation model with newly-developed thin-layer equations were applied to simulate batch re-circulating dryers under assumed different drying conditions, which are combinations of four parameters, namely, drying air temperature, drying-phase-duration, tempering-phase-duration, and apparent drying air velocity passing through the grain. Out of the simulated data, the moisture change and the change rate were investigated. Validation drying tests were carried out in a self-built small re-circulating dryer.Besides the drying air temperature, the drying-phase-duration length was found to be very much influential to the drying rate and drying efficiency. Longer tempering period resulted in better drying performance. By raising drying air velocity from 15 to 25 cm/s the drying rate would raise about 14%, and the increase started to level off at higher air velocity. The re-circulating speed affected the drying rate and drying thermal efficiency. |
