英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was designed to investigate the mechanical properties of fire- retardant (FR) treated China-fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata) and Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) oriented strand board (OSB). Two groups flakes were prepared from the wood of these two wood species. One group of flakes was sprayed with 15%-25% Lee-An-302 fire-retardant (a mixture of boron, chloride, ammonium sulfate and phosphides) and the other group was untreated. Conventional hot press was used to fabricate the OSB with resin contents of 4.5% and 6.5% of liquid phenol formaldehyde. The target densities were 0.5g/cm3 and 0.6 g/cm3. Results are summarized as follows: (1) The bending strength of FR-treated China-fir and Japanese cedar OSB were met the standard as specified in CNS2215-200 type of particleboard. However, the FR-treated OSB made of higher level of resin content and density showed greater value of bending strength. The highest value of bending strength obtained from the FR-treated OSB by sprayed with 15% of Lee-An-302 FR. (2) The bending strength of FR-treated China-fir and Japanese cedar OSB in which the grain direction of face flakes parallel to span direction (MOR// and MOE//) increased with increasing of its anisotropy (MOR///MOR ⊥, and MOE///MOE⊥). (3) The highest values of internal bonding strength and screw holding strength obtained from the FR-treated China-fir and Japanese cedar OSB by sprayed with 15% of Lee-An 302 FR. However, the greater value can be found for FR-treated OSB made of higher resin content and density. |
