中文摘要 | 〈樂記〉認為禮樂之創制是取法於天地。提倡音樂可以讓情感得到抒發與調和的機會,相對地,也能一併適切地引導慾望,使免得流於氾濫無節制;至於禮則是讓理性獲得具體的實現,讓人倫關係得到合理的規範--這是儒家「以禮樂治天下」的思想傳統。不過,就〈樂記〉所認知的禮樂來說,禮可以說是代表道德規範,是維繫人倫關係的最重要寶貝;樂固然是有助於道德生活的提昇,卻不足以完全呈現藝術的面貌,因此,不妨從藝術的角度來開展樂在今日時代的意義。今日是一個運用科技以達到高度物質生活的時代,為了使得人類免於淪為只有物慾活動的動物,提倡禮樂是有其深刻而具有發展性的主張--亦即提倡 禮樂,可以成就一個道德化和藝術化的物質生活世界。 |
英文摘要 | The “Yue Ji” holds that the creation of the “Li” of music patterns itself after heaven and earth. Music, (Yue) allows one to express feeling and harmonize one's inner self. Conversely, music can control wanton desire, keeping one from falling into a state of debauchery. In Confucianism, the system of “Li” is one that allows reason to express itself in a concrete way. It is part of a traditional Confucian axiom that states “Use the Li of music to control that which is under heaven”. This notion is then idealized in harmonious human relations. According to the “Yue Ji”, the “Li” in the “Li of music” represents a moral realm. It could be said to be the most important part of maintaining human relationships. Music inherently helps to augment a moral lifestyle it is not entirely confined to an artistic realm. We can subsequently proceed from an artistic realm in order to develop different interpretations for music in today's world. Today's technology leads us to pursue a material lifestyle. In order to keep mankind from becoming a complete material animal, the promotion of the “Li of music” has its value. It can assuage material instincts and create a more moral and artistic lifestyle. |
