英文摘要 | The Chinese translaion of Buddhist scriptures went through the important times during the c. 700-year period from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the middle Tang Dynasty. Outstanding translators of sutras then came one after another and, among them, Xuan Zang has been universally acknowledged as the greatest. He presented the theory of "The Five Kinds of Terms Not Translated," which virtually deals with the principles of transliteration of Buddhist terminology and may be serviceable to modern translators. The importance and trend of translation are also given briefly in this article. |
