英文摘要 | The accumulation of both forms of butyric acid (HBu) has been used as an indicator of digester failure during anaerobic treatment. However, the present experimental results show that normal and iso-Hbu degradation activities during methanogenesis at hydraulic retention times of both 20 and 5.3 days increase by 1~53% and 4~47%, respectively, for each gram of the biomass in contact with 0.09~4.2mg of Mn, Zn, Ni, Fe and Cu. These results imply that, in the presence of these heavy metals, care should be taken in using Hbu accumulation as an indicator of digester failure. |
