中文摘要 | 本研究旨在探究臺灣地區現行高職英文課程與教材之缺失與改進之道,內容包括:(一)、探討英文教學在當今技職教育中應有之地位,(二)、以問卷調查大學教師及企業主管對高職畢業生英文能力之意見,(三)、以問卷調查高職師生對當今高職英文課程與教材之意見,(四)、分析比較現行高職英文教材之內容與結構,(五)、探討理想之高職英文課程與教材必備之條件。研究結果顯示:大學教師及企業主管皆認為高職畢業生英文教育不足,高職師生對現行英文課程設計與教材內容普遍不滿,重要意見包括:當前高職課程設計與社會需要嚴重脫節,現行高職英文授課時數太少,教材份量太多,用字太難,內容乏味,溝通式與互動式習題太少,口語練習不足,各階層教材未循序漸進,整體教學效果不彰。亟需改進之項目包括:配合時代需要修訂課程標準、調整教材內容與結構、重視職業英文,增加上課時數、以及正視大多數學生志在升學的事實等。 |
英文摘要 | This study aims to find out the shortcomings of current English syllabus and textbooks for vocational high schools in Taiwan and to give suggestions for revision. Questionaires were given to vocational high school English teachers, graduates of vocational high schools, teachers in colleges that accept graduates from vocational high schools, and business employers to find out if the current syllabus and textbooks were able to train the vocational high school students to have enough English ability for their future career and education. The features of ideal textbooks are also discussed. The findings: Most college teachers and business employers were not satisfied with vocational high school graduates' English ability. High school teachers found the current English textbooks far from practical and useful. The time allotted to the English class was not enough for the teaching materials. The communicative approach could not be used with the current textbooks. Both the syllabus and textbooks need revision to meet the need of the contemporary society. |
