中文摘要 | 本研究利用「海研二號」研究船在 1994-1996 年間執行各項研究任務時所蒐集的 水深資料,繪製臺灣北部近海海底地形圖及水深剖面圖,並以之探討海底地形特徵及其地質 構造之意義。除了文獻中已提過的地形構造單元之外,我們發現了一些有趣的地形單元和地 形特徵。例如,在臺灣北部海岸線附近有一狹長之凹陷地形,其外有與之平行且成圓丘狀之 平順海脊,我們分別稱它們為『基隆凹槽』和『基隆海脊』。基隆海脊包含基隆港外的基隆 嶼,應為火成性海脊。臺灣北部陸上的金山斷層、崁腳斷層和基隆斷層在臺灣北部近海有很 明顯的向東北方延伸的斷層地形與之對應,這些斷層地形分別通過彭佳嶼、花瓶嶼和棉花嶼 。然而,臺灣斷層沒有向海域延伸之跡象。我們亦在臺灣北部近岸海域發現斷崖和凹陷地形 及新的海谷地形。 由臺灣北部近海之地形特徵,我們可歸納出三組線性地形,分別為西北向、東北向和東西向 。這些線性地形可用右移的大地剪應力模式來解釋。 |
英文摘要 | The bathymetric data collected aboard R/V Research Ⅱ in cruises of different missions during the period 1994-1996 in the nearshore area of northern Taiwan were used to draw bathymetric profiles along the cruise lines and to compile a bathymetric map. From the bathymetric map and profiles, we have studied the topographic features and their geological and plate-tectonic implications. In addition to those mentioned and discussed in literature, we have found some new and interesting morphological units and features. For example, along the northern coast of Taiwan there exist a narrow trough, which is referred to as Keelung Trough, and a narrow ridge with smoother surface than its surroundings, which is referred to as Keelung Ridge. This ridge includes Keelung Islet off the Keelung port in northern Taiwan and is considered to be an volcanic ridge. In the nearshore area there are obvious linear, narrow and parallel fault zones trending NE-SW, which are considered to be the northeastern extensions of the Chinshan fault, the Kanchiao fault and the keelung fault in northern Taiwan. However, in the nearshore area there is no evidence of the northeastern extension of the Taipei fault.Besides, there are some newlydiscovered scarps, depressions and valleys. From the morphological characteristics of the northern nearshore area, we have found that the linear features of topography can be grouped into three systems sparately trending NE-SW, NW-SE and E-W. These systems of linear features can be interpreted by a model of shear stress caused by the oblique interaction between the Eurasian and Philippine Sea plates in the northern Taiwan area. |
