英文摘要 | The Pleistocene Hengchun Limestone of the Kueitzechiao-Oluanpi area was deposited during the Quaternary eustatic sea-level fluctuations and the ongoing Penglai Orogeny. Previous studies have established a N-S facies-geometry profile and proposed a depositional history of the Limestone. The Hengchun Limestone in the Kueitzechiao-Oluanpi area was interpreted to have developed during two major glacioeustatic sea-level cycles. It was suggested that the limestone on the Oluanpi terrace, in particular, developed during the younger cycle. To study subsurface lithofacies and diagenesis of the Hengchun Limestone, three boreholes were drilled on the Oluanpi terrace. Petrographic and stable isotopic studies of the core samples have identified: (1) predominant meteoric diagenesis texture, (2) strong meteoric influences on stable carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions, and (3) two subaerial exposure surfaces that define three depositional cycles. The results are consistent with the glacioeustatic interpretation for the origin of the Hengchun Limestone. The present study, however, further reveals that the Limestone of the Oluanpi terrace may have formed during three minor glacio-eustatic cycles. |
