英文摘要 | Stable-isotope studies were carried out for the amphibolites of the Tananao Metamorphic Complex in the Tungao area, northeastern Taiwan to understand their possible water-rock interaction history. The δX values of the amphibolites range from +2.8 to +5.2%o, which are lower than those of the normal basaltic rocks (i.e., δX O= +5.7 ± 0.3%o). The low- X O compositions most probably resulted from high-temperature seawater-rock interaction before the protoliths were accreted to the continental margin. The δX O values of the amphibole separates range from +2,0 to +4.0%o,whereas those of the coexisting plagioclases from +3.6 to +7.7%o.The steep slope of the data array in the δ - δ plot demonstratesthat the two minerals were not in isotopic equilibrium, which isthought as a result of differential retrograde isotope exchangebetween amphibole/plagioclase and the ambient metamorphic fluidafter the amphibolite facies metamorphism. The low δX O valuesalso indicate that the amphibolites would be relativelyimpermeable to metamorphic fluid or that water/rock ratios inthe amphibolites were low during the amphibolite faciesmetamorphism. The amphibolite xenoliths in the nearby Yuantoushan graniticintrusive have high 8@0 values, i.e., +9.1 to +10.4%o. Theyobviously have isotopically exchanged with or have been assimilated by the granitic rocks. The δX O values of vein quartz in the amphibolites rangefrom +6.5 to +12.8%e. Based on isotopic fractionation between coexisting quartz and rutile, those quartzs with low 8"0 values (i.e., < +7.7%o) might have been formed under retrogradetemperatures of 505 ° - 549℃, while those with high δX O values(i.e., > +10.0%o) might have been formed at lower temperatures or related genetically to the nearby granitic intrusives. |
