中文摘要 | 許多研究指出校長領導對於「家長參與」(Parent Involvement)這項工作的重要 性。他們認為,家長參與學童學習活動與學校事務的情形,與學校校長對於這種理念與措施的 態度與反應策略有關。本研究探討學校校長對於家長參與的反應策略與家長參與於不同活動 之程度的關係,同時亦分析臺北縣、市公立國小校長對於家長的反應策略,及臺北縣、市公 立國小家長參與之普遍狀況。分層隨機抽取65%的臺北縣、市公立國小校長參與此研究,研 究資料則在民國八十四年十二月至八十五年一月間所蒐集。結果顯示,一般而言臺北縣、市公 立國小校長傾向於運用合作式的反應策略(Cooperation)與家長互動,而較少用社會化 (Socialization)或正式化(Formalization)的反應策略。其次,大體而言,家長參與於學校活 動或事務的程度很高,但在不同活動或方案的參與程度則有所差異,以親職教育(Parenting) 這類的家長參與程度最高,而擔任義工(Volunteering)的程度最低。最後,本研究資料顯示, 整體而言,校長所使用的反應策略與家長參與於各種不同活動的程度存在著顯著相關。個別 而言,合作式的反應策略是所有種類的家長參與活動的一項顯著策略。本文建議學校校長應 瞭解他(她)們在家長參與這項業務的重要性,並應致力於建立積極正向的家庭、學校、與社 區關係。 |
英文摘要 | Many researchers have documented the importance of the principal's leadership role in tasks involving parents. They have argued that parent involvement is related to what attitudes and response strategies are taken by the principals. This article investigates the relationship between principals' response strategies toward parents and the degrees of parent involvement in different types of activities. It also describes the overall picture of response strategies used by principals when interacting with parents and the current state of parent involvement in Taipei area public elementary schools. A stratified random sample of 65% (N=327) of public elementary school principals in the Taipei area participated in this study. Data were collected during the period of December 1995 through January 1996. The results showed that, on the whole, three response strategies (cooperation, socialization, and formalization) used by the principals were significantly correlated with the extent to which parents were engaged in different types of parent involvement activities and the overall state of parent involvement. Individually, the strategy of cooperation was a significant strategy for all types of parent involvement. Furthermore, in general, the extent of parent involvement in Taipei area public elementary schools was high. However, the degree to which parents were engaged in different types of parent involvement activities was variable. This study concludes by suggesting that school principals should be aware of their important role in parent involvement and focus on building positive home-school-community relationships. |
