英文摘要 | Natural radioactivity has been measured in phosphate rock samples, collected from various localities of Hazara division of Pakistan. For data acquisition and analysis a high purity germanium (HPGe) detector and a PC based MCA was used. The minimum, maximum and average values of the specific γ-ray activities due to □K, �卜a and □Th have been determined. The specific activity for □K varied between 103.5 ± 66.3 Bq.Kg�笐縱nd 359.8 ± 82.7 Bq.kg�笐�. For �卜a the specific activity changed from 416.3 ± 12.6 Bq.kg�笐膺o 520.7 ± 13.9 Bq.kg�笐�. The range of specific γ-ray concentration for □Th was between 18.6 ± 4.6 Bq.kg�笐� and 112.1 ± 19.2 Bq.kg�笐�. The average values of the measusred activities were 207.3 ± 69.1, 439.5 ± 12.2 and 50.4 ± 11.8 Bq. kg�笐� for □K, �卜a and □Th respectively. Radium equivalent activity (Ra□) and the hazard indices have also been determined for the phosphate rock samples. The maximum value of the Ra□ was found to be 622.1 ± 30.5 Bq.kg�笐�, which was greater than the permitted value of 370 Bq.kg�笐�. the average values of the external (H□) and internal (H���a) hazard indices were also greater than unity thus showing that these quantities are larger in the phosphate rock samples. |
