英文摘要 | Vegetation analysis is an approach to study forest succession and dynamics. Vegetation types, compositions, and succession tendency of the dominant species at the Wushyrkeng forest in Central Taiwan were studied. Through the matrix cluster analysis of 29 samples, three vegetation types can be recognized: They are (1) Turpinia formosana-Mallotus paniculatus type, (2) Litsea acuminata-Schefflera octophylla type, and (3) Cyclobalanopsis longinux-Rhododendron formosanum type. These can be further divided into eight subtypes. Owing to frequent disturbances, Turpinia formosana-Mallotus paniculatus type was still at an early stage of succession, the other types were stable communities. Litsea acuminata-Schefflera octophylla type and Cyclobalanopsis longinux-Rhododendron formosanum type will keep the current conditions and maintain dynamic equilibriam unless disturbances occur. |
