英文摘要 | The intake-valve deposits of gasoline engines can impair engine performance and exhaust emission. In this study, a laboratory-scale deposit simulator was developed to screen some potential additives about inhibition of deposits formation on engine's intake valve during laboratory research stage. Principally, it produced deposit film by impinging gasoline droplet from droplet generator onto a heated stainless plate. A high-speed photography was used to image the evaporation characteristic of droplets on a heated surface. The effects of fuel composition and additives on deposit formation and on the evaporation lifetime of droplets were investigated gravimetrically. Various analytical techniques (FTIR, TGA, NMR, SEM) were utilized to characterize the deposit film composition. The result of experiments indicated that alkyl phenols type additives can prevent the formation of intake valve deposits. |
