英文摘要 | The corrosion behavior of some ternary Lead-Silicate Glasses, PbO-SiO�� -RO (RO=divalent oxides CaO, BaO or CdO), was investigated by subjecting them to the action of hydrochloric acid solution with different strengths. The effect of varying the temperature of the leaching solution was evaluated. Moreover, the effect of gamma rays on corrosion (weight loss) was estimated. The experimental results were interpreted by considering the mechanisms of glass corrosion and emphasizing on the reason for change in the leach rate. The effect of the divalent oxide on corrosion weight loss was correlated to the ionic size of the cation and its ease of movement diffusion throughout the leached layer. The increasing temperature changed the dissolution mechanism rate. The possible formation of induced defects upon gamma-rays irradiation was responsible for the observed weight loss. |
