中文摘要 | 本研究想探討中央大學的學生對科技類通識課程的評量及影響因素,以實徵的方式,找出與其他科目比較時,他們評量這類科技通識課程的重要向度為何。作者選擇八十四學年第一學期三個科技類的通識班級,共160位學生為樣本,約占所有選修科技通識課程學生的49%。 本研究假設學生對通識課程的評量有三種:(1)與系上專業科目比較,(2)與其他通識課程比較,(3)與在中大上過的其他老師比較。此三種依變項與七種因素有關:(1)上課內容,(2)老師教學,(3)個人收穫,(4)個人努力,(5)修課動機,(6)課程期望,及(7)個人特質(性別,年級,學院)。以上三個假設用多變數迴歸分析來驗證。 由以上三個回歸分析的結果可得以下的結論:影響中大科技類通識課程的評量因素存:(1)學生的比較標準,若將通識課與系上的專業科目比較,與其它的通識課程比較,或與其他的老師比較三方面來看,學生有不同的評量標準。(2)個人的收穫程度:這是學生最看重的向度,不論用上述任何比較標準,它都是達顯著的因素。收穫的意義是課程實用,能了解自己,能被引導進一步的閱讀,喜歡來上課,並且主觀的覺得有收穫。這是在其它有關的變項都已控制之下所得的結論,如:他們的學習期望的高低,個人努力的多少,老師的教學方法,他們對通識課程的讀法等。這顯示學生的評鑑態度以主觀的學習結果為導向,這也許不是完全由老師單方面能決定的,是學生與教學的互動的結果。(3)老師的教學,這是將通識老師與其他老師比較時,最重要的因素。(4)修課動機:以有興趣,或湊學分者對老師有較負面的評量。 |
英文摘要 | This paper is to empirically investigate factors affecting students' evaluation of technical type general education courses in the National Central University. The sample was from three courses, a total of 160 students, representing 49% of the total students taking technical type general education courses. We hypothesized that students could use three different comparing criteria to evaluate a technical type general education course. They are: when comparing it with one's department courses, when comparing it with other general education courses, or when comparing its teacher with other teachers in school. There are seven factors affecting the above three criteria. They are: (1) ourse contents, (2) teaching, (3) personal gains, (4) personal efforts, (5) otivation, (6)expectations, (7)personal characters (sex, year, and college). Multiple regression models are applied to analyze the data. Based on the above regressions, the factors affecting evaluations of technical type general courses are: (1)students' different comparison criteria, (2) personal gains is the most important factor, regardless of criteria, (3) teaching factor is the most important factor when comparing the teachers with other teachers, and (4) motivations based on interests or just getting the credits will lower the evaluation of teachers. |
