英文摘要 | It is found that bolted & bonded joint in composites is considered to be one of the best jointing methods from the survey of literature. Herein, our work is primarily concened with the failure analysis of single-lapped bolted & bonded mixed composite joint experimentally and numerically as an representative and for practical purposes. Two kinds of stacking sequences in adherends are tested: quasi-isotropic and cross-ply. The adhesives include thermal-setting and thermal-plastic types. The bolts used to fix the bonded joint by applying clamping pressure are screw-type 304 stainless steel, whist the rivets are NAS 1919 C05 according to the specifications of National Aerospace Standard. The failure mechanism of one bolt is different, first delamination, then bolt bending and shearing, finally tension failure. The typical stress-strain diagram in tensile tests is linear before delamination, then becomes curve to failure. We also adopt C-scan non-destructive testing (NDT) to examine the damage initiation site compared with the numerical prediction by finite element method (FEM) satisfactorily acceptable. Finally, the joint strength will increase with increasing overlap length, until the strength approaches asymptotically constant value even if the overlap length is longer. |
