中文摘要 | 最近以助熔法合成祖母綠(綠寶石)時發現有少量矽鈹石伴隨晶體生成。所發現 的矽鈹石有兩種,一是無色透明另一是藍綠色。兩者成份皆為Be□SiO□,但綠色晶體中 測出微量釩元素(0.3wt﹪)。 兩種合成的矽鈹石與天然結晶相同,皆屬於三方晶系對稱,空間群為R□。無色與綠色矽 鈹石之晶室參數分別為主□=12.466,□=8.244□與□=12.472,□=8.253□。兩者之結 晶構造經解析精化後,證實與天然矽鈹石相似,最終之R值分別為1.81﹪(無色結晶)與 1.49﹪(綠色結晶)。 結晶構造分析結果顯示綠色矽鈹石中所含之釩元素並不取代鈹或矽原子的位置,亦非分佈 於環狀四晶體之中心通道,而是以間隙充填方式存在於結構中。合成矽鈹石之綠色推論是 導源於釩雜質的d電子軌域因晶體力場分裂所造成。 |
英文摘要 | Two flux grown phenakites one colorless and the other bluish green which formed as minor accessories in an emerald growth experiment have been studied. Both phenakites are close to an ideal chemical composition of Be□SiO□ except that the colored samples contain approximately a 0.3 wt% of vanadium impurities. Both synthetic phenakites crystallize into a trigonal symmetry with a space group of R□. Identical to the natural specimens, the cell parameters are □=12.466, □=8.244□ for the colorless phenakite and □=12.472, □=8.253□ for the bluish green crystal. The crystal structure refinements give the final R factors of 1.81% and 1.49% for the colorless and bluish green phenakites, respectively. Two vanadium atoms, V(1) and V(2), are recognized in the structure of the bluish green phenakite. These vanadium atoms are located at the interstitial positions rather than serve as substitutes for either the Be or Si cation sites. It is inferred that the green hue in colored phenakite originates from the crystal field splitting of the d electron orbitals of the interstitial vanadium impurity. |
