英文摘要 | An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was established for detection of Geotrichum candidum in carambola juice, guava juice, peach juice, and tomato juice. This assay was specific for G. candidum, as shown from the results of crossreaction tests using 40 different strains of fungi. Although the components of the tested fruit juices could decrease ELISA responses, positive relationships between ELISA readings and mold concentrtions in juices were observed. The sensitivity of the ELISA was about 1μm myelium/mL. The correlation coefficient between the ELISA absorbance and the conventional mold count was 0.94. A survey of the contamination of G. candidum in 156 samples including carambola juice, guava juice, peach juice, and tomato juice purchased from retail stores demonstrated that most of the samples of carambola juice and guava juice were highly contaminated, and that there was a significant variations among the same juices from different factories. However, G. candidum was not detected in the fruits of carambola, guava, pech or tomato, irrespective of the degree of maturity. |
