中文摘要 | 本文利用人口組成定義社會分化及其測量指標,分析並預測臺灣近四十年及未來十年的社會分化趨勢,其中特別著重產業及教育的結構變遷。同時進一步探討社會分化與社會流動及社會發展間的關係。 據此,本文的分析得出三個具理論及政策意義的結論:社會分化是促成結構性社會流動的主因;儘管兩代間的依賴性不變,只要職業的或教育的結構改變,便能提供或創造大量的就業或就學機會,從而增加總流動率;社會分化與社會流動不但與社會發展間具有相對應的關係,同時還是決定發展形式與程度的因素。 |
英文摘要 | What are the trends of social differentiation and social mobility in Taiwan after World War II? And to what extent is Taiwan's socio-economic development related to such differentiation and mobility in the occupational and educational structure? To answer these two questions, this research starts with a definition of the concept of social differentiation and its measurement according to the population composition by kind of activity or years of schooling, and analyses the of tendencies structural changes in occupational and educational mobility for the past forty years. An attempt has also been made to see to what extent these tendencies can explain the existence of different stages of socio-economic development in Taiwan. On the basis of the above definition and analysis, the available material suggests two conclusions: (1)The growing differentiation in the occupational structure makes for structural changes in occupational mobility. All the same, changes in educational structure bring about the rise and redistribution of school-recruiting opportunities, (2)Such differentiation in the occupational and educational structure results to some extent in the formation of different stages of socio-economic development. |
