| 英文摘要 | In the past two decades, the researchers of the psycholinguistic model of reading process believe that while reading, a reader is actually engaging in a problem-solving guessing game by applying various processing strategies. Although bottom-up processing is recognized in this reading theory, its importance is much de-emphasized, compared to the top-down processing. As L2 reading is different from the L1 reading by nature, the author reviews some of the contemporary research which contends that in any reading model, L2 students' language proficiency should play a key role in the reading comprehension process, and, therefore, concludes that vocabulary and syntax, the two major components of the bottom-up strategies, should not be neglected in an L2 reading class. |
