英文摘要 | This review summarizes researches related to the fluid dynamics and heat transfer characteristics in rib-roughened channel flows. Its scope includes both experimental and computational studies in ribbed and forced duct flows. The variation of turbulent transport phenomena in ribbed channels with rib arrangements, such as single rib pair, two pairs of ribs in tandem, and repeated ribs applied to two opposite walls, is examined. In particular, laser-Doppler velocimetry measurements of periodic fully developed main and secondary flows are studied to evaluate the basic assumptions embedded in the k- �e and k- �e -A turbulence models. Both developing and periodic fully developed turbulent heat transfer augmentation and friction in ribbed channels are investigated and compact correlations in terms of Reynolds number and dimensionless rib pitch and height are presented. The local and average heat transfer coefficients measured by employing laser holographic interferometry and other techniques are compared and documented. The performance comparisons are made to determine when it is useful to use ribbed ducts instead of smooth ducts in practical applications. |
